Natick Youth Basketball's Boys 8C team reached the D6 Championship Game after three consecutive playoff wins before falling to Swansea in a close final.

NATICK -- Natick Youth Basketball's Boys 8C squad capped its season with a deep postseason run, going 6-5 in league play before stringing together three straight playoff victories to reach the D6 Championship Game. The team fell to Swansea in a tight final.

Coach Dave F. reflected on the season's broader lessons after the 8C run ended. "This season was never just about the scoreboard," he said. "From day one, we chose a different definition of winning: effort every play, the right attitude, trusting each other, owning your mistakes, and putting in the work even when it's hard."

The Boys 8B team also wrapped its season with memorable moments, including multiple buzzer-beating wins while competing as a B team against several A-level squads from surrounding towns. Coach Shawn Kelly praised the group's commitment throughout a season marked by close, competitive games.

Off the court, the Natick Youth Basketball 7th Grade Girls team volunteered at the Natick Service Council Food Pantry, sorting donations and stocking shelves. NYB noted the outing as an extension of the program's emphasis on teamwork and community responsibility.

Looking ahead, NYB travel basketball tryouts for grades 4-8 are scheduled for September 25-27 and October 2-4, with registration for all programs opening in mid-August.

Natick Little League announced that registration is open for summer baseball and softball programs, open to Natick residents only. The league's financial aid program is available for families who need assistance.
