Select Board grants liquor license, suspends CPK over compliance

Select Board · Meeting of August 18, 2026

Natick Select Board grants new liquor license, suspends CPK over manager gap. The board voted 5-0 to approve an all-alcohol package store license for family-owned Giorgio's Liquors at 213 North Main Street, despite member Cody Jacobs saying "I am struggling to find the public need." Separately, the board voted 4-1 to suspend California Pizza Kitchen's liquor license after it operated roughly six months without an approved manager, imposing a five-day suspension with four days held in abeyance for a year. On water and sewer appeals, the board denied one flood-damage abatement request outright and voted 4-1 to grant a 25 percent reduction on an $8,707.64 bill for another resident, cutting it to about $6,530.73.

Member Linda Wolfschlager said of that bill, "I think I would have probably had to go to the hospital after opening that bill." The board also confirmed Janine Smith as treasurer-collector and endorsed a fiscal 2027 opioid-settlement spending plan after learning the town has spent more than $285,000 of $485,000 received. A dispute over Adams Street trash dumpsters, with residents citing state and constitutional objections, was continued to September 2.
