Natick Planning Board delays a downtown zoning fix and sends it back for rework. Chair Doug Landry told the board he did not think Article 12, an amendment clarifying non-residential space rules for the Downtown Mixed-use and Center Gateway districts, was "ready to go to town meeting," and the board voted unanimously to recommend Town Meeting refer it back to staff for a spring rewrite. Member Andrew Meyer said existing downtown retail space sits unfilled, questioning whether a 50 percent non-residential requirement matches market reality: "That makes me wonder if we're doing it right." The board also voted unanimously to release a $20,000 Middlesex Savings Bank passbook tied to the 2009 Sanctuary Estates road acceptance, continued hearings on a five-lot Pleasant Street subdivision and a proposed Chick-fil-A at 1235 Worcester Street to October 21, and canceled its October 7 meeting for lack of pending applications.
