Natick Planning Board sends two zoning amendments to fall warrant
Planning Board · Meeting of August 19, 2026
Natick Planning Board sends zoning flexibility measures to fall warrant, continues two development hearings. Chair Doug Landry opened the August 19 meeting from a substitute venue after being "ousted" from its usual room, then advanced warrant articles letting up to 20 percent of required non-residential space in Downtown Mixed-use and Center Gateway districts serve as residential amenities. A property owner argued the change still leaves smaller Center Gateway parcels undevelopable.
The board continued hearings on a five-lot Charles River Estates subdivision on Pleasant Street, where neighbors described decades of flooding, and on a proposed 5,056-square-foot Chick-fil-A at 1235 Worcester Street, where member Andrew Meyer said he was "having a hard time finding" a town benefit given an existing location a mile and a half away. All three hearings were continued to September 9.
