NATICK — The Natick Hybrid Town Meeting Committee finalized its report and declined to lengthen a hybrid-meeting notice window before disbanding. Members voted 8-0 to accept only minor "scrivener's errors" corrections to their home rule petition, keeping its 10-business-day hybrid-notice provision rather than adopting a 20-day standard a Finance Committee member had suggested, modeled on Plymouth's 2022 petition. Member Frank argued "I really don't think that's going to happen, quite frankly, but it could happen," opposing a late change.
In a separate 5-2-1 vote, the committee agreed to remove a former member's name from its 55-page final report and slides, contingent on legal counsel Karis North's advice, after member Brindley said "I think it's different if we really can't honor the request versus won't honor it." The panel scheduled one final meeting for October 1 to approve minutes before its charge expires at Town Meeting.
