Natick School Committee approves $180,557 in transfers, hears district's first SRO report. Members voted 5-0 to move $61,607 from elementary field trip accounts to high school athletics and 4-0 to fund $118,950 in early strategic-plan work, including a Panorama Education survey contract and staff stipends. Director of Finance Matt Gillis reported the district returned about $224,000 to the town after spending 99.8 percent of its roughly $109 million fiscal 2026 budget.
Dr. Ferguson delivered the district's first-ever annual school resource officer report, required under state law and a police memorandum, saying "our goal is never really to get it to criminal level." The committee also got a first read of a new code of conduct and heard that three finalist architecture firms, including AI3 Architects, will interview Sept. 22 for the Memorial School rebuild.
