NATICK -- July 16, 2026, Natick Conservation Commission issued permits for four residential projects and continued two larger developments to August 6 at its sole July meeting. The commission voted unanimous negative three determinations for Ambler Court repaving, a sunroom addition at 27 Emerson Street, a deck at 24 Riverbend Drive, and an addition and garage at 7 Upland Terrace, each with conditions for erosion control and, in the Upland Terrace case, Aquifer Protection District compliance and clarifying language about a disputed stream classification. A certificate of compliance was issued for 292 Elliott Street. The commission continued the 24 Peterson Road single-family new-construction notice of intent after Conservation Agent Claire told engineer Peter that the alternatives analysis "does not demonstrate compliance with this performance standard" under riverfront area regulations, with impervious area within the 200-foot riverfront zone reduced to 285 square feet from an original 672. The 273 West Central Street notice of intent and major stormwater permit, covering a proposed 219-unit, five-story mixed-use building, the first project under Natick's West Central Corridor zoning district, was continued to August 6 pending planning board action and draft order of conditions language, with commissioners raising concerns about snow storage capacity and precision of pavement limits in the 25-foot no-disturb zone. An order of conditions was issued for 43 Cypress Road with 151 required mitigation trees and a Japanese knotweed monitoring requirement. Claire reported that demolition of the South Natick spillway began July 16, with the first concrete cut expected mid-week.
