NATICK — The Natick Transportation Advisory Committee approved prior minutes and discussed bike infrastructure challenges. Chair Ed Doherty's committee heard from cyclist David Hruska, who identified snow removal on the Cochituate Rail Trail as the single most impactful change town officials could make. The committee also accepted a project proposal from Conway School graduate students Brian Burke and James Riley to design a shared-use path along West Central Street near the West Natick train station, with Aarti Gandhi volunteering as the weekly liaison.
In reviewing Select Board feedback on five committee goals, the panel clarified its independent role distinct from the Safety Committee's technical function, with newly elected Select Board member Cody Jacobs—a former Transportation Advisory Committee member—supporting the committee's comprehensive approach to long-term transportation planning. The committee postponed participation in EcoNatick's May 2 Earth Friendly Fair to allow time to develop clearer goals and strategy for a 2027 event.
