NATICK — Trails and Forest Stewardship Committee approves 2026 work plan with invasives funding request. Conservation Agent Claire Rundelli is requesting $20,000 per year for five years to expand invasive species control on Conservation Commission lands, with a small grant already applied for to fund Town Forest removal and resident outreach. Rundelli is coordinating with the Department of Conservation and Recreation on repairs to two small Pegan Cove bridges, with DCR offering financial support; a Pickerel Pond bridge Notice of Intent hearing opens January 15.
The committee discussed enhancing Trail Stewards engagement through workshops and events while developing a lead-steward model for each property to improve communication and volunteer recognition.
