NATICK — Field Study Group receives briefing on field shortage and planning needs. Angela Snell, Director of Community Services, and Lauren Muerer, Director of Recreation & Parks, told the committee that field usage has remained consistently high since 2016 while available space has not increased, and that new programs including flag football with approximately 100 players and expanding field hockey have increased demand. Parks and Recreation controls fields after 6 p.m. and weekends with a priority system, but lacks a centralized permitting system, creating scheduling challenges.
The Master Plan update is expected to begin in Fall 2026 with a focus on Cole North development.
