Natick Select Board approved major infrastructure improvements in a June 24 meeting. The board voted 5-0 to advance the South Natick Dam spillway removal project, funded by a $1 million grant covering 90 percent of costs with work already mobilized and all permits in place. The board authorized removal of public shade trees for the Boden Lane Bridge replacement, ensuring safe access to the West Natick Commuter Rail station and accommodating future MBTA platform upgrades and potential third-track expansion.
On Cochituate Street, the board rescinded an unenforceable 1976 no-parking restriction and established a new enforceable ban on bridge parking. The board also referred the Eliot and Everett Streets intersection to the town engineering department for dangerous intersection analysis.
