Natick Recreation and Parks Commission advances Cole Center planning. The commission reviewed capacity data showing the Cole Center gym is too small for adult sports, with programs moved to the senior center and middle schools, and the turf fields are overbooked. Lauren Meurer, Director of Recreation and Parks, reported the data will be presented to the Selectboard on July 8 to guide decisions on whether to replace or renovate the Cole Center.
The commission also advanced two Community Preservation Act projects: the South Natick Park redesign and a 33,000 dollar scope and design project for Murphy Field. David Hiller was unanimously reappointed to the Community Preservation Committee for a three-year term beginning July 1.
