NATICK — Recreation and Parks Commission unanimously approves prior minutes and hears grant updates. The Community Services Department reported a $2.1 million Massachusetts Environment and Climate One Stop (ECOOS) grant application for Grove Park and the South Natick Multipurpose Area, with $225,000 local match requested, and a $500,000 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiative application for South Natick Dam Park renovations, coordinated by Sustainability Coordinator Jillian Martin.
The commission also received updates on Cole Recreation Center turf field replacement, a batting cage project at Hunnewell Park funded by a state earmark from Representative Linsky's office with June completion required, and community gardens management transition to Recreation and Parks from the Council On Aging. The Community Preservation Committee currently holds $2.6 million in budget authority.
