Natick Planning Board votes unanimously to deny carwash proposal on Route 9. The board voted 5-0-0 to deny Boston Capital Investment Group's application for a carwash at 625 Worcester Street, finding the applicant did not meet required zoning findings for approval. Chair Doug Landry and the board cited unresolved traffic safety concerns, potential vehicle queuing onto the state highway, concentrated traffic activity in a confined site area, and neighborhood compatibility issues.
After four public hearings and supplemental traffic analysis, with public testimony overwhelmingly opposed to the project, the board concluded no mitigation measures could address the site's fundamental constraints.
