Net Zero Committee approves letter to schools on sustainability strategy

NATICK — Net Zero Committee endorses letter pushing schools toward core sustainability strategy. The Committee voted 5-0 to send a final letter to the Strategic Planning Committee for Natick Public Schools, authored by Ann Lentell and refined by Lentell and Sustainability Director Jillian Wilson-Martin, urging the district to transition from isolated green projects to sustainability as a central educational mission. Kate Mora will present the Committee's year-end accomplishments — covering solar, heat pumps, and Climate Leader status — to the Finance Committee on March 24 and to Spring Town Meeting.
A task force led by Mora, Lentell, and David Landman will pitch sustainability priorities to the Memorial School Building Committee in April, emphasizing commissioning, cafeteria waste reduction, and all-electric and geothermal systems.
