Natural and Synthetic Turf Field Study Group · Meeting of March 23, 2026
NATICK — The Natural and Synthetic Turf Field Study Group heard testimony on field capacity and safety from Natick's three largest youth sports programs on March 23. All four members present reviewed written responses from Natick Soccer Club, which runs 82 teams and 1,450-plus participants, along with input from Natick Youth Football and Natick Little League, serving 1,000 additional young athletes. Natick Football cited D-Field as unsafe due to seven years of poor maintenance; Natick Soccer requested lit multi-use turf fields with better drainage; Natick Little League stated it lacks any synthetic turf fields for game play and urged the town to prioritize maintenance of existing natural grass fields.
The group prepared to brief the Finance Committee on March 26.
