Natick Select Board voted to join a 34-town waste contract negotiation consortium. The board unanimously authorized entry into an intermunicipal agreement with Walpole and 33 other municipalities, including Worcester, for joint solid waste negotiations serving energy-from-waste facilities. Town Administrator James Errickson explained the accord authorizes Walpole to negotiate on behalf of all participants but does not commit Natick to any specific outcome; Town Counsel reviewed it favorably.
The board also unanimously approved eight consent agenda items including prior meeting minutes, Cultural Council resignations, three public way occupation permits, two alcohol license modifications, and December 31 authorization for Friends of Natick Trails to use the Cochituate Rail Trail.
