NATICK — Council on Aging Safety Workgroup approves roadshow on elder financial scams. The workgroup, including Jim Fitzgerald and Laura Forker, voted to recommend a Natick Police Department financial scam awareness roadshow at six locations: Cedar Gardens, Coolidge Gardens, Sherwood Village, Natick Library, Natick Police Station, and the Natick Community Senior Center, with completion targeted for 2026. The group proposed enhancements to the police presentation, including emphasis that scams are crimes warranting prosecution, reassurance that victims bear no fault, provision of a fraud recovery checklist at the outset, and dedicated prevention education.
The workgroup will seek approval from the full Council on Aging Board on April 13 and assist with event logistics, promotion, and attendance tracking.
